Your arms are longer...

| iShares Cup 2009 - Cowes Week, from 1st to 3rd August 2009 |
| Beyond the tired voice, Tanguy Cariou gives his impression of the results from the second day of racing at the iShares Cup,
which is currently being run at Cowes in the Solent.

On today's menu, six races are being contested in a wind oscillating between 18 and 22 knots, a violent current and some intense
shipping. Though today was yet another occasion to witness the domination of Oman Masirah skippered by Pete Cumming, the
progress made by the crew of Groupama 40 has been considerable, and they are now in sixth position, hot on the heels of their
rivals: "We've made a marked improvement compared with our performance yesterday. We got off to some good starts and
sailed better too, despite some silly mistakes. What's evident though is that we're very tired. To compete in six races over
such short courses is exhausting. At the end of the day, your arms are longer" says Tanguy Cariou.
At this
particular game, certain teams are really pulling out all the stops: "Clearly Oman Rouge is above the rest, both in
terms of speed and technical mastery. They really dominate" concludes Tanguy. In the general ranking, it is worth
noting the comeback by Gitana Extreme, which has got back into second position through being very consistent. They're ahead
of Loïck Peyron, Luna, BT and Groupama, the latter having once again won a race. The plan for tomorrow, with another potential
six or seven races, is for Groupama to continue to progress.
