Record time: 2 days, 5 hours, 54 minutes and 42 secondsOne month after their performance on the Columbus Route, Franck and his men steal a second scratch-time from Playstation's
skipper. But above all, they improve Steve's record of 2 days 5 hours 54 minutes and 42 seconds by more than 18 hours. We
take our hats off to you sirs!
Groupama 3 covered the 947 miles separating Miami from New York at the average
speed of 27 knots, compared to an average of 17,57 for Playstation.

The conditions during the recordFollowing a postponed first start, Groupama 3 finally sets off from Miami on Sunday 3d June in the early afternoon (French
time). The weather window is short but especially auspicious. The pace will be fast but a good scratch-time awaits at the
end! The whole weather issue of this record lies in the observation of the tropical cyclone passing offshore Florida
this weekend. Not coming too close to avoid falling in the middle of it, swept by strong winds, but not veering too far from
it, risking weak winds - such is the difficulty of this course.
A Westerly gust of 18-20 knots accompanies Groupama
on the start line offshore of Miami. The wind quickly picks up offshore of the East coast of America. Franck and his crew
set the pace and clock the miles. The first, and only night at sea of this record will be remembered: over 42 knots
on the anemometer and a very calm sea that noticeably slows the maxi trimaran's progress... Surprising, says Franck Cammas!

After 24 hours of racing, Groupama 3 has covered 660 miles and left Cape Hatteras in its wake. The last hours at sea, and
especially the finish in the bay of New York, will be marked by a less sustained wind.
Monday 4th June - It is 18h36
in New York, 00h36 in Paris (Tuesday 5th June) when Groupama 3 crosses the finish line just outside the bay of New York.
1 day 11 hours 5 minutes and 20 seconds is the new reference time between Miami and New York.
